Modern Lace was started in 2016 by Kaare Joritz. Kaare grew up with her grandmother and gained a love of sewing from watching her grandmother create anything from intricate blankets, to wedding dresses, to patching everyone's jeans. Kaare saw an opportunity to take something she loves to do and create a business out of it while staying at home with her four children.

After being in the work community out of the home Kaare decided in November 2022 that she wanted to pursue her blanket making full time and spend more time at home.

Kaare puts in a lot of time and love into each blanket and knows you will absolutely love them as much as she does.

You want to keep your blanket as soft as possible. Follow some of these tips to keep your blanket looking and feeling new.

1) Wash your blanket alone in cold water and use the delicate cycle.

2) Avoid fabric softeners, detergent with fabric softeners and any detergents with dyes and scents.

3) Use a detergent free of scents and dyes. Or you can also use 1/4 cup baking soda and 1/3 cup white vinegar.

4)Hang dry your blanket or tumble dry with NO heat.
